Hello there!

Thank you for visiting my website.

IN SHORT: I am a writer who likes to write - or think about writing - about physics, women, existential crises, myths, democracy, colonialism, psychological disorders, sex, and love. I may also have a slight penchant for tragedy.

FOR MORE DETAIL: I am an American Korean(not Korean American) woman writer for the stage and screen, and I am interested exploring the gap between representation and the “thing” beneath the representation, be it race, gender, sex, social status, disability, or relationships. I am also interested in the relationship between medium and story, which means asking questions like what makes a play a play? or why does this story have to be a screenplay and not a stage play? etc.

My works have often been inspired by history, as history itself is a kind of representation and full of interesting dichotomies, but at other times, I write something that feels completely opposite, which is to create dreamlike worlds with poetic language. In these worlds, common logic is subverted, and language becomes the building block of the world.

Thematically, I am currently interested in female liberation, subverting gender norms, the model minority myth, and I have been naturally inclined to tragedy.
